Gathering at the communication hub
In the Small Conference Room of Landshut County Administration, on April 25, 2025, a significant meeting took place to discuss the topic of "Inclusion in Sport". The gathering brought together numerous representatives from clubs, social facilities, education, politics, and civil society, all eager to contribute to this important cause.
The conference also reported on the 1st Inclusive Job Fair Landshut, the upcoming inclusive course offerings at the Vilsbiburg Adult Education Center, and the latest news regarding the conference on hoarding disorder.
Linda Pilz, the disability commissioner of Landshut County, expressed her interest in the "Sport inclusive" network, a new initiative with the goal of building a sustainable inclusive sports network in the city and county of Landshut. This network aims to change the current landscape of sports clubs in Germany, as only a fraction of the approximately 90,000 sports clubs are inclusive.
The "Sport inclusive" network focuses on expanding barrier-free offers, promoting participation, and sensitizing the public and sports clubs. Concrete cooperations with schools and social facilities are planned, and an information evening about the new sports network is already in the planning.
Daniela Hame of TSV Landshut-Auloh presented the "Inclusive Family Sports" project, an initiative that is open to all ages and offers both movement and a space for encounter and community. The project emphasizes that inclusive sport means everyone can participate, regardless of disability or role (athlete or helper).
Partners for the "Sport inclusive" network include Special Olympics Bayern. The mood at the end of the meeting was overwhelmingly positive, with participants going home with many new ideas and contacts. One participant even expressed being inspired and motivated to continue pushing the topic forward.
