Gathering of individuals experiencing bipolar disorder for mutual support and guidance
In the heart of Wiesbaden, a new self-help group dedicated to supporting individuals living with bipolar disorder is set to begin. The group, which aims to provide a safe space for those navigating between emotional extremes, will kick off on September 5th.
Bipolar disorder, also known as manic-depressive illness, is characterised by extreme fluctuations between elation and lethargy. This new self-help group promises to be a beacon of hope for those affected, offering a regular meeting place for sharing experiences, exchanging strategies, and finding solace in mutual understanding.
The group meets every two weeks at the health department, specifically at Konradinerallee 11, from 3 to 5 pm on Fridays. Interested individuals can reach out via email at [email protected] to express their interest and learn more about the group.
Wiesbaden is no stranger to self-help groups, with around 100 such groups already in operation. The new group joins this network, offering a dedicated space for those specifically affected by bipolar disorder.
In addition to the new group, the city's health department also offers a self-help contact point for a wide range of issues. For more information, individuals can reach out to [email protected], call (0611) 313777 or 317629.
The city is also taking steps to raise awareness about speech disorders in October, with particular focus on the city centre. For those interested in participating in these awareness-raising events, more information will be available in due course.
It's worth noting that the self-help group BABOS for people struggling with eating disorders was founded on August 12, 2025. The city's commitment to providing support for those dealing with various health issues is evident in the wealth of self-help groups available.
During the city's health days on the castle square, around 25 self-help groups will be available for contact. These events provide an excellent opportunity for individuals to learn about the various self-help options available and to connect with others who share similar experiences.
In these challenging times, the launch of the new self-help group for people with bipolar disorder is a welcome addition to Wiesbaden's support network. For those affected by bipolar disorder, this group offers a chance to connect, share, and find strategies for managing daily life.
