Generous volunteers in the UAE assemble Dh2.5 million worth of food supplies for families in Gaza
Aster DM Healthcare and Emirates Red Crescent Collaborate to Support Families in Gaza
Aster DM Healthcare, a leading healthcare provider, and Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) have joined forces to dispatch 20,000 food ration kits to families in Gaza. The initiative, valued at Dh2.5 million, is aimed at providing essential supplies and critical healthcare services to those affected by the ongoing crisis.
The food ration kits, comprising 15 staple food items, include rice, pasta, canned tuna, lentils, milk powder, cooking oil, biscuits, tea, basmati rice, salt, sugar, chickpeas, pineapple juice, canned meat, kidney beans, and empty cartons for storage. Each kit is sufficient to support a family of three to four members.
Dr Moopen, Founder Chairman of Aster DM Healthcare, personally ensured that the 20,000 food ration kits reach families in Gaza who are struggling to meet their basic needs. He stated that Aster DM Healthcare is committed to standing with those in need during humanitarian crises.
The packing process involved staff from Aster, including doctors, pharmacists, nursing staff, and operations teams, as well as 12 Aster Volunteers who joined the effort at Jaleel Cash and Carry's warehouse. Bharatha Raj, an Aster Volunteer, expressed that being part of the packaging and dispatch of the food ration kits was a deeply rewarding experience.
In addition to the food ration kits, Beyond providing essential supplies, two Mobile Medical Services have been deployed to deliver critical healthcare to those affected in Gaza. Aster Volunteers, in collaboration with ERC, have already launched these services that continue to operate in Gaza.
The consignments of food ration kits, totaling approximately 300 pallets, are being sent to ERC's warehouse in Dubai Industrial City. Shipments are usually dispatched from Khalifa Port and are expected to reach Gaza by the end of October.
This initiative reflects Aster DM Healthcare's unwavering commitment to providing timely support, care, and relief to communities in distress. Similar collaborations were carried out in 2023 to support Turkey and Syria, where Dh2 million worth of medicines were donated and 10,000 ration kits were dispatched. Aster DM Healthcare will continue to stand with the people of Gaza in any way it can.
