Global Expansion of Warehouse Automation Technology
ODTH First Class Logistics, a Belgian company known for its human-focused, sustainable logistics, has partnered with Movu Robotics to execute a project for next-generation warehouse automation. The partnership reinforces ODTH's position as a leader in the industry.
The project, led by Simone Kühn, the head of Movu Robotics, transforms a traditional warehouse into a high-density, software-driven logistics hub at ODTH's Rumst site. The warehouse will house over 31,000 pallet positions across 150,000 square feet, serviced by 20 autonomous shuttles working across four levels.
Christophe Coulongeat, CEO of Movu Robotics, stated that the result is a seamlessly integrated solution, fast, flexible, and intelligent. The system is capable of 6,000 pallet movements daily and will meet the demands of fast-moving consumer goods clients without interrupting the site's 24/7 operations.
Movu's strategy of modular, accessible automation is validated by the ODTH project. The system is designed to seamlessly orchestrate shuttle operations in real time within ODTH's live SAP ERP environment, thanks to Movu OPS, Movu's proprietary warehouse execution software.
Wim Van Leuven, project manager at ODTH, emphasized that reusing the existing infrastructure helped cut installation costs and carbon impact while delivering real value from day one. The project reuses the warehouse's existing racking infrastructure, avoiding 680 tonnes of CO2 emissions.
Elsewhere, Ensilitech, a company focused on reducing cold chain costs in biopharma transport, has raised over $6 million in funding to scale its platform. Ensilitech's technology aims to lower cold chain expenses without sacrificing quality in the biopharma industry. The need for reliable and cost-effective cold chain solutions will grow as investment in cell and gene therapies accelerates.
In another development, GoBolt has integrated into the Shopify Fulfillment Network. The collaboration provides new tools for direct-to-consumer businesses to balance speed with efficiency. Shopify sellers can now rely on GoBolt to handle fulfillment at scale, enabling them to focus on growth while improving customer satisfaction. The partnership between GoBolt and Shopify allows Shopify merchants access to faster, more flexible delivery options.
The project between ODTH and Movu reinforces ODTH's position as a leader in human-focused, sustainable logistics. This is the first time Movu's Movu OPS software orchestrates the Movu Atlas pallet shuttle system. The partnership between ODTH and Movu marks a significant step forward in the automation of logistics operations.
