Global Financial Service Provider UBS Asset Management Introduces Sustainable Worldwide Stock Market Fund
UBS Asset Management, a leading player in the global asset management industry, has announced the launch of a new sustainable exchange-traded fund (ETF) called the UBS ETF (IE) MSCI World Small Cap Socially Responsible UCITS ETF (ISIN: IE00BKSCBX74).
This innovative ETF, which follows European Union regulations for investment funds (UCITS), aims to track companies from the MSCI World Small Cap index, but with a focus on companies with strong sustainability profiles. The UBS ETF uses a best-in-class approach, selecting stocks with the highest Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) rating in each sector to cover 25% of the market capitalization of the MSCI World Small Cap.
The ETF is compliant with Article 8 of the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation of the European Union (SFDR), ensuring it adheres to strict sustainability standards. The UBS ETF achieves its sustainability focus through filters that exclude companies based on certain norms, values, and climate relevance. Sectors such as tobacco, controversial weapons, coal and power plants, oil, and gas are not included in the ETF due to these filters.
The management fee for the UBS ETF is 0.23% per year, making it an accessible sustainable investment option for those interested in socially responsible investing. Petar Ilic, the leader at UBS Asset Management who recently launched the new sustainable ETF focused on small-cap stocks, expressed his excitement about the launch, stating, "We believe that this ETF will provide investors with a unique opportunity to invest in small-cap companies that are leaders in sustainability."
The UBS ETF is based on the MSCI World Small Cap SRI Low Carbon Select 5% Issuer Capped index, ensuring a diversified and well-managed portfolio. With its focus on small-cap stocks and its commitment to sustainability, the UBS ETF offers an attractive investment opportunity for those seeking to align their investments with their values.
