Global Law Firm XYZ Announces 47 Partner and Director Promotions

In a significant move, global law firm XYZ has announced the promotion of 47 lawyers to partner and director positions, effective from January 1, 2021. The promotions span across various practice groups, with a focus on litigation and disputes, corporate, M&A and securities, banking and finance, and many others.

In South Africa, Ugendran Odayar has been promoted to corporate, M&A and securities, while Bryce Perrett and Carol Holness have been promoted to litigation and disputes. In Durban, Bryce Perrett takes on a new role, and in Cape Town, Carol Holness continues her legal journey with the firm.

Across the Atlantic, in London, England, Andrew Reeves has been promoted to litigation and disputes, and Will Alete and Andrew Williams have been promoted to banking and finance. Kate Findlay has been promoted to litigation and disputes in Toronto, Canada, and Heather Cameron has been promoted to employment and labor in Ottawa, Canada.

In the United States, Bob Bruner has been promoted to bankruptcy, financial restructuring and insolvency in Houston, and William Nicholson has been promoted to projects in New York. Katie Van Dyk has been promoted to real estate in Austin, and Sumera Khan and Utsav Mathur have been promoted to litigation and disputes in Houston.

The promotions also extend to other regions, such as Dubai, United Arab Emirates, where Angela Croker has been promoted to banking and finance. Alexandre Roth has been promoted to banking and finance in Paris, France, and Laila Paszti has been promoted to corporate, M&A and securities/data protection, privacy and cybersecurity in Toronto, Canada.

In Australia, Sarah Lucey has been promoted to risk advisory/compliance in Sydney, and Tamlyn Mills has been promoted to litigation and disputes in Sydney. Rajaee Rouhani has been promoted to risk advisory in Melbourne, and Kaitlin Long has been promoted to litigation and disputes in Calgary, Canada.

The firm has also announced the promotion of 25 female lawyers globally, representing 53 percent of the promotions. Notable female promotions include Reneé Loiselle in Montreal, Canada, and Agnieszka Braciszewska in Warsaw, Poland.

Other notable promotions include Adrienne Sebring in New York, USA, for banking and finance/corporate finance, and Joris Ravelli in Amsterdam, Netherlands, for banking and finance. Kevin Hong has been promoted to litigation and disputes in Hong Kong, and Mary Kimura has been promoted to banking and finance/public finance in San Francisco, USA.

Steven Choi has been promoted to real estate/construction and engineering in Sydney, Australia, and Zayed Al Jamil has been promoted to intellectual property in London, England. Julia Lloyd has been promoted to tax in London, England, and Nicki Milionis has been promoted to employment and labor in Melbourne, Australia.

Kirstin Russell has been promoted to banking and finance in London, England, and Alexandra Shields has been promoted to employment and labor in Sydney, Australia. Nancy Montmarquet has been promoted to tax in New York, USA, and Katie Chung has been promoted to litigation and disputes in Singapore.

The promotions cover 11 practice groups, with the largest number of promotions in litigation and disputes (14 lawyers), corporate, M&A and securities (10), banking and finance (9), employment and labor (18), and real estate (6). The firm has also made strides in other practice areas, such as risk advisory (4), tax (4), data protection, privacy and cybersecurity (2), intellectual property (2), and projects (2).
