Gold production reaches 25 tons at the Nedzhinny Enrichment Plant

Polymetal's Nezhdaninskoye GOK ore-processing facility has yielded 25 tons of gold concentrate after processing 7.8 million tons of ore over a nearly four-year period. The initiation of the ore-processing factory at the Nezhdaninskoye mine occurred in November 2021, and within three months, the...

Polymetal's Nezhdaninsk Plant Achieves Gold Production Milestone

In a significant development for the mining industry, Polymetal's Nezhdaninsk plant in Russia has reached a major milestone. The enrichment plant, launched in November 2021, has successfully produced 25 tons of gold in the combined concentrate.

The plant's Chief Engineer, Anton Nikitenko, stated that the plant aims to achieve a capacity of 2.4 million tons in the next one to two years. According to his estimates, the months expected for reaching this capacity are August to October 2022.

The Nezhdaninsk deposit's ore, known for its 'double refractory' nature, has proven challenging to process. However, since 2021, the technological process at Nezhdaninsk has become more stable at all stages, thanks to optimization and equipment upgrades. Changes were made to the reagent and gravity separation departments, and the compressor and pump equipment were updated.

To process 25 tons of gold, the plant processed 7.8 million tons of ore over nearly four years. The ore is processed into four types of finished products: gravity concentrate, gold sulfide flotation concentrate, silver flotation concentrate, and silver-lead flotation concentrate.

The gravity concentrate and gold sulfide flotation concentrate are processed at the Amur Hydrometallurgical Combine, while the silver flotation concentrate and silver-lead flotation concentrate from the Prospect deposit are sold to external consumers.

Kamil Dautov, a master technologist at Nezhdaninsk, joined the company four years ago as a flotation operator and has seen significant professional growth. He believes that working at Nezhdaninsk has given him a unique advantage for his future development, as he has learned about new approaches to enrichment and mastered modern equipment.

The plant's success can also be attributed to effective teamwork and competent management led by the plant's director, Nadir Galimov. Achieving the 25-ton gold production milestone was made possible by this combination of professionalism, teamwork, and management.

To meet the annual target of processing 2.2 million tons of ore, the plant's equipment has been upgraded. The plant now uses an advanced process control and comminution management system to optimize operations and maximize gold and silver extraction. The management and control technologies at Nezhdaninsk are considered the best in the domestic mining industry.

Despite the challenges, the Nezhdaninsk plant continues to push boundaries, demonstrating the potential for Russia's mining industry.
