Golf champion Scottie Scheffler enjoys a day off in New York, visiting The Tonight Show and the premiere of Happy Gilmore 2 while carrying the Claret Jug.
Scottie Scheffler, the rising golfing star, has made history by winning The Open Championship at Royal Portrush. His performance was nearly perfect, and this victory marks the third leg of a career Grand Slam.
Following his triumph, Scheffler appeared on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon. The segment featured the golfer walking on stage with the Claret Jug in hand, and a standalone shot of Scheffler hitting an iron shot was also shown.
The Claret Jug, fresh from The Tonight Show, then posed for photos and met with several members of the Happy Gilmore 2 cast. Scheffler was accompanied by Rory McIlroy and Xander Schauffle during the presentation of the Claret Jug at the Happy Gilmore 2 event in New York City.
Notable golfing personalities, such as Rory McIlroy, Brooks Koepka, Justin Thomas, Will Zalatoris, Paige Spiranac, Nelly Korda, Nancy Lopez, Verne Lundquist, Jack Nicklaus, Bryson DeChambeau, Tony Finau, Collin Morikawa, Michelle Wie, John Daly, Jim Furyk, and Fred Couples, were also in attendance at the premiere.
After his victory, Scheffler embraced his wife Meredith and son Bennett. The golfer will return home to Texas before preparing for the defense of his Tour Championship title in the revamped format.
With two weeks of regular PGA Tour events left before the FedEx Cup Playoffs commence with the FedEx St Jude Championship at TPC Southwind between August 7-10, Scheffler's name is strongly suggested as the Champion Golfer of the Year. The golfing world eagerly awaits to see what the rest of the season holds for this impressive young player.
