Grammy Award Winner Found Not Guilty in Assault Trial
Belcalis Almanzar, better known as Cardi B, has made headlines once again, this time following a unanimous acquittal in a legal dispute that took place in California in 2018. The case involved a security guard at a medical clinic in Beverly Hills.
This latest acquittal comes after a tumultuous 2018, a year that saw Cardi B embroiled in several high-profile incidents. One such incident occurred at a New York strip club, where she pleaded guilty to assault and reckless endangerment in 2022. The altercation, which took place in August 2018, involved Cardi B and two bartenders. At the time, Cardi B was married to rapper Offset and was expecting her first child.
Another incident occurred during a concert in Las Vegas in 2023. A concertgoer filed assault charges against Cardi B after an altercation that ensued following a drink being thrown at her from the audience. Cardi B vehemently denied the alleged physical attack and felt harassed by the security guard during the incident.
The musician has consistently denied all allegations against her. In 2023, she testified in her own defense, denying the Las Vegas incident. In 2022, she pleaded guilty to the charges related to the New York strip club incident, for which she was ordered to serve 15 days of community service.
Despite these incidents, Cardi B has continued to thrive in her career. In June 2025, Chloe Malle, who previously headed Vogue.com and digital content, was announced as the new chief editor of "Vogue", succeeding Anna Wintour. Cardi B has since welcomed three children into her family.
The legal dispute in California marked a significant moment in Cardi B's life, yet another chapter in a year filled with challenges and triumphs. As she continues to navigate her career and personal life, Cardi B's resilience and determination remain undeterred.
