Injured Kulusevski Misses Europa League Final Victory, Remains Committed to Sweden Team
Dejan Kulusevski, the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder, was forced to miss the club's historic Europa League final victory over Manchester United due to a patella surgery he underwent later in May.
Kulusevski's injury, which occurred during a match against Crystal Palace in May, has kept him sidelined since then, and he has been unable to train under new manager Thomas Frank. However, the Swedish international's commitment to his national team remains unwavering.
Despite being unable to play, Kulusevski was called upon by Sweden for the international break and has travelled with his comrades to the training camp. His teammates consider his presence in the camp as a positive factor, and they appreciate his passion for the Sweden national team.
Jon Dahl Tomasson, the Sweden head coach, stated that Kulusevski will be part of the group but will not be able to play. The coach praised Kulusevski's commitment to the team, despite his injury.
Kulusevski's close friendship with fellow teammate Ken Sema has not been affected by his injury. Sema appreciates Kulusevski's leadership role within the Sweden team and has expressed confidence that the midfielder will return to the football field in 2-3 months.
Six Tottenham players, including Kulusevski, are currently sidelined through injury, which has prevented them from training under Frank. However, Kulusevski has likely trained with Juventus during his recovery before being eligible to play for Tottenham.
Kulusevski provided an update on his progress, stating that his rehab is going well, and he expressed confidence that he will return to action towards the end of 2025. Dejan Kulusevski's teammates believe that his help is essential for qualifying for the 2026 World Cup.
In a move that may be considered graphic content, Kulusevski shared a photograph of the inside of his knee after surgery on Instagram. The photograph showed the extent of the injury, but Kulusevski's passion for the game was evident in his determination to return to the field.
Unfortunately, Kulusevski will miss the entire Champions League league phase due to not being registered in Tottenham's European squad. However, the midfielder's commitment to his club and country remains unwavering, and fans can look forward to his return to action in the near future.
