Climb Again Center in Nucșoara Opens, Empowering Disabled Children

The Climb Again Association has expanded its mission with the opening of a new center in Nucșoara, Argeș County. This facility, dedicated to therapy and paralympic training for children and young people with disabilities, covers a 5,000-square-meter campus.

The center, founded by former Balkan climbing champion Claudiu Miu, is now managed by the Climb Again Association. It offers a wide range of activities, including an adventure park, sports hall, climbing tower, adapted sports fields, and therapy rooms. Four specialized camps will be held annually.

The new center is set in an inclusive, nature-friendly, and future-oriented environment. It is powered by renewable energy, thanks to a partnership between the Romanian Association for Green Energy and Sustainable Development (AREVDD) and ABB Romania. A 15 kWp photovoltaic system, consisting of 30 solar panels, generates around 15.45 MWh of electricity annually, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 7.25 tons per year.

A 22 kW electric vehicle charging station, provided by ABB Romania, promotes green mobility in the region. The center's fleet and the local community can make use of this eco-friendly charging station.

Ana Nedea, president of AREVDD, stated that the center is proof of the transformative power of passion and perseverance. Claudiu Miu considers the project an investment in the future of children and young people with disabilities in Romania.

The Climb Again Center in Nucșoara has been providing free climbing therapy sessions, physiotherapy, and psycho-emotional support for children with visual, hearing, and neuromotor disabilities since 2014. The founder of the Climb Again Association, Andrei Rosu, established the first center in Romania specializing entirely in therapy through sports and paralympic training for children and youth with disabilities.

The center is expected to host up to 100 children and young people annually once fully complete in June 2026. AREVDD is committed to supporting initiatives that combine technological and social benefits. The Climb Again Center in Nucșoara is a testament to this commitment, providing a beacon of hope and empowerment for disabled children in Romania.
