Green Energy-Powered Therapy Center for Disabled Children in Romania Reopens for Climbing Activities
New Climb Again Center in Romania Empowers Disabled Children with Renewable Energy and Electric Mobility
In the picturesque town of Nucșoara, Argeș County, a new beacon of hope and opportunity for children with disabilities has risen. The Climb Again Center, a 5,000-square-meter campus founded by former Balkan climbing champion Claudiu Miu, is now open.
The center, dedicated to therapy through sport and paralympic training, is part of the association's mission to provide free climbing therapy sessions, physiotherapy, and psycho-emotional support for children with visual, hearing, and neuromotor disabilities.
The facility offers an adventure park, sports hall, climbing tower, adapted sports fields, and therapy rooms. Once fully complete in June 2026, the center will host up to 100 children and young people annually.
In a recent development, the Climb Again Center has partnered with ABB Romania to install a 22 kW electric vehicle charging station. This eco-friendly initiative is part of a renewable energy project that also includes a 15 kWp photovoltaic system, consisting of 30 solar panels.
The renewable energy project is a collaboration between the Romanian Association for Green Energy and Sustainable Development (AREVDD) and ABB Romania, although the Climb Again Center itself is not mentioned as being directly involved with these organisations.
Ana Nedea, president of AREVDD, has expressed her enthusiasm for the project, stating that the Climb Again Center is an initiative that combines technological and social benefits. She believes it will be a place where children and young people will have access to activities tailored to their needs, in an inclusive environment, nature-friendly, and connected to the future through electric mobility and energy efficiency.
The photovoltaic system at the Climb Again Center is expected to generate around 15.45 MWh of electricity annually, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 7.25 tons per year. The electric vehicle charging station is available for both the center's own fleet and the local community.
The Climb Again Association has been providing services since 2014, and with the opening of this new center, they continue to invest in the future of children and young people with disabilities in Romania. The center's renewable energy installations and electric vehicle charging station are expected to play a significant role in this mission.
However, it's worth noting that at the time of writing, the center does not currently have information available about the renewable energy installations or electric vehicle charging station.
Despite this, the Climb Again Center stands as a testament to the power of community, innovation, and compassion, providing a sanctuary where children with disabilities can climb, learn, and grow.
