In a groundbreaking move, Ford Motor Company has partnered with Cisco to integrate the popular collaboration platform, Webex, into their vehicles. This innovative step allows professionals on the move to collaborate from anywhere, turning their Ford and Lincoln vehicles into alternative workspaces.
Starting from the second half of 2025, the Webex app will be available in the infotainment systems of the new 2025 Lincoln Aviator and 2025 Ford Explorer. The all-new 2024 Lincoln Nautilus will also feature this game-changing application.
The Webex app is accessible through the native infotainment experience, eliminating the need for a separate tablet, smartphone, or laptop. Drivers can join audio-only Webex meetings and calls effortlessly from the in-vehicle touchscreen. When parked, they can view other remote participants' video or shared content, share reactions, and more, as if they were at their desk in the office or at home.
The collaboration is a custom-built solution, optimized for vehicles, and is a part of the Ford and Lincoln Digital Experience. This immersive experience aims to deliver a driver-first experience that can be customized and personalized to meet customers' needs.
Moreover, the Webex app includes Webex's AI background noise removal, ensuring clear and uninterrupted communication for the driver. The cabin in Ford and Lincoln vehicles can be transformed into a true alternative workspace, and also offers the ability to access 5G wireless technology capability and the option to activate a Wi-Fi hot spot to connect multiple devices.
Cisco is showcasing various offerings, including this innovative integration with Ford, at Enterprise Connect from March 25-28, 2024. Visitors can explore these new developments at the Cisco booth in Expo Hall, Booth 1607.
These features are part of the Webex Suite, which provides continuous, secure, and reliable collaboration. By integrating Webex into their vehicles, Ford and Lincoln are not just enhancing the in-car experience, but also redefining the concept of mobile workspaces.
