Gulf Medical University Continues to Shine as a Regional Leader in Medical Education

Gulf Medical University (GMU) is maintaining its position as the top choice for ambitious students seeking fields like Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, and advanced postgraduate programs. The university is currently accelerating its growth in education, research, and innovation, with a new academic year approaching.

In a significant move, GMU has appointed Prof Manda Venkatramana as its new Chancellor. Simultaneously, Prof Dr. Hesham Marei has been named as the Vice Chancellor - Academics. Both appointments were approved by the Board of Trustees.

Prof Venkatramana plans to introduce innovative new doctoral, master's, and bachelor's programs at GMU. Alongside Prof Dr. Marei, he aims to strengthen quality assurance, embrace innovative teaching, and forge global partnerships that foster lifelong learning. The new academic programs will involve countries in the Gulf region, specifically including collaborations that engage international partnerships.

GMU is also set to expand its infrastructure significantly. A dedicated research building is being laid in the near future, and a standalone research wing is planned. This expansion is part of GMU's commitment to sustainable development, a quality that has earned it recognition in the 2025 Times Higher Education Impact Rankings.

Dr Thumbay Moideen, Founder President of Thumbay Group, expressed confidence that GMU will excel to the next level under its new leadership. "Where the World Comes to Learn" at the Finest Medical School in the Region is now GMU's new tagline.

With admissions for the 2025-26 academic year closing soon, interested individuals can visit www.gmu.ac.ae for more information about admissions. The new academic year at GMU offers a final chance for students to join one of the region's top and most sought-after medical schools. Despite its high acceptance rate, GMU remains competitive, making it an accessible yet challenging destination for students seeking a world-class education.

As GMU continues to be a leader in the region, offering a variety of programs in Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, and advanced postgraduate studies, it is clear that its commitment to excellence and innovation continues to drive its success.
