New Director of Threat Prevention/Operations in Hagen: Ursula Schönberg

Ursula Schönberg, a seasoned police officer with extensive experience, has taken over as the new Director of the Directorate of Threat Prevention/Operations in Hagen. Schönberg, a native of Dortmund, assumed her position on May 5, 2025.

Schönberg's career in law enforcement spans various roles at the Dortmund Police Headquarters. She has been active in patrol service, civilian crime fighting, and a staff office at the Dortmund police. She also held a leadership position at the state headquarters of the State Police Central Office (LZPD) NRW in the higher service group 2.2.

One of Schönberg's most notable achievements in Dortmund was leading numerous police special operations, including high-risk football matches, demonstrations, events, and other outstanding deployment situations. She was also deployed in Police Inspectorate 1 in the Directorate of Threat Prevention/Operations in Dortmund.

Schönberg completed her master's degree in "Public Administration - Police Management" at the German Police University (DHPol) in Münster in 2020. Her operational experience and expertise, coupled with her educational background, make her an ideal fit for her new role.

Ursula Schönberg heads the protective police in Hagen and is responsible for over 200 police officers. She expressed her pleasure at taking on her new role, stating that strengthening the sense of security among the citizens of Hagen is very important to her.

Targeted police presence, easy accessibility for citizens, and restrictive prevention and prosecution of crimes are cornerstones for improving the security situation in Hagen, according to Schönberg. Her goal as the new Director is to improve the city's security situation sustainably.

Police President Ursula Tomahogh expressed pleasure at securing Schönberg for the Directorate of Threat Prevention/Operations in Hagen. Schönberg's ability to motivate people to achieve common goals is a valuable asset in her new position.
