Half a century of municipal-regional alliance
The towns of Ried and Landshut are set to commemorate the 50th anniversary of their partnership with a joint art exhibition. The event, which will showcase paintings, photographs, and sculptures created by local artists from both towns, is scheduled to open on Thursday, October 24, at 7 pm.
The Ried exhibition will be held at the Museum Innviertler Volkskundehaus from October 25 to November 23. The Landshut exhibition, meanwhile, will be on display in the town hall foyer, although the exact location remains unspecified. The Landshut exhibition will run until October 6.
The Ried artists in the exhibition are led by Andreas Sagmeister, Rainer A. Riepl, Klaus Zeugner, and Renate Schrattenecker-Fischer. Sagmeister will provide sculptures for the exhibition, while Riepl and Schrattenecker-Fischer will contribute paintings and mixed media collages. Zeugner will display photographs, and Schrattenecker-Fischer will exhibit artistic photographs.
The Landshut artist collective HEMIGA will present photographs in the exhibition. The theme of the Ried artists' work in the exhibition is "connections". A notable piece in the Landshut exhibition will be the "4 Friends", constructed from wooden building blocks.
The number 50 is a focus of the Landshut works in the exhibition. The exhibition will be opened by Mayor Alexander Putz of Landshut and his Ried counterpart, Bernhard Zwielehner.
