Hammock-equipped relaxation center for young individuals set to open in Urberach
In the heart of Urberach, the city of Rodermark is set to implement a new project that aims to cater to the needs of its young residents. The planned youth recreational area on Kinzig-/Weser-Straße is a collaborative effort between the city's youth and environmental departments.
Stephanie Geisz, head of the municipal youth department, expressed her satisfaction with the project approach. Two events on site allowed teenagers to express their ideas and choose between two concepts. The majority of teenagers voted for a concept that focuses on meeting and relaxation, with the "Chill House" at the centre of the new youth area.
The "Chill House" will be a covered seating area with an integrated hammock, providing a cozy spot with a roof over their heads for those who will meet in the future at the recreational area. The goal of the project is to meet the demand for outdoor meeting places in Rodermark.
Interested teenagers were actively involved in the planning of the recreational area. Stephanie Geisz praised the process as a great format to find out directly from the future users of such a measure what is important and decisive for them.
The implementation of the recreational area project for teenagers on Kinzig-/Weser Street in Urberach is scheduled to begin after the frost period in the coming year. The city is looking forward to this as a good start for the realization of the recreational area. The existing football goal will be moved and secured with a ball catch fence, ensuring safety and enjoyment for all.
The project is a step towards creating a more vibrant and engaging community for Rodermark's youth. With the "Chill House" and the recreational area, the city is providing a space where young people can relax, socialise, and enjoy their leisure time.
