Harmful disposal practices and electronic waste accumulation on an autumn travel itinerary
The city of Gütersloh is once again offering its Giftmobil-Service, a hazardous waste collection event, from September 5, 2025, for three Fridays and three Saturdays. This service will stop at 22 locations across the city, allowing residents to dispose of household quantities of hazardous waste free of charge.

- September 10: Frobelstr. (Parkpl. gegenüber Hausnr. 8a)
- September 12: Avenwedde Bahnhof, Parkpl. Dompfaffenstr. and Waldsiedlung, Apfelweg / Walnussweg
- September 13: Avenwedde Mitte, Parkplatz Avenwedder Str. and Pavenstädt, Melanchthonstr.
- September 19: Isselhorst, Kirchplatz and Isselhorst, Auf dem Felde (kath. Kirche)
- September 19: Hans-Böckler-Str.; Sackgasse Hammer-Markt
- October 10: Kattenstrother Weg, Liebfrauenkirche
- October 20: Kaufland, Am Anger
Accepted Items
The Giftmobil-Service will accept a wide range of items, including defective and functional coffee machines, washing machines, electric stoves, vacuum cleaners, refrigerators, shavers, radios, televisions, stereo systems, microwaves, hair dryers, computers, monitors, and similar items. The service will also include the acceptance of electrical and electronic waste.
However, there are some items that will not be accepted, such as car batteries, medications, asbestos, fire extinguishers, and wall paints (room paints). It is important to note that items should be delivered in sealed original packaging if possible.

The city's department of street cleaning requests that residents take advantage of the weekly hazardous waste collection on Thursdays at the Gütersloh disposal point, Carl-Zeiss-Straße 58, from 3 to 6 pm, which will continue to be open during this period.
This year's Giftmobil-Service is just one of the many initiatives the city of Gütersloh is taking to promote sustainable waste management and protect the environment.
