Heavy road regulations and guidelines in Morocco (180)
In a significant development, two suspects have been arrested in connection with a phone scam and the theft of approximately 70,000 euros worth of valuables in Nuremberg, Germany.
The arrest warrants were issued by the Bavarian Police Headquarters Mittelfranken, following a routine traffic control conducted by the Bayreuth Traffic Police Inspectorate at a motorway service area in Himmelkron on February 15, 2024.
The suspects, aged 21 and 23, were arrested by the Criminal Division 1 (Kriminalfachdezernat 1) of the Police Headquarters Middle Franconia in the city of Nuremberg.
The scam involved false police officers in Nuremberg Zerzabelshof, with the senior citizen victims being defrauded prior to the traffic control discovery. Later that evening, a patrol from the Nuremberg-Ost Police Inspectorate visited the apartment of one such affected senior citizen in Nuremberg. Upon checking a car, the police found bags filled with gold coins in the trunk.
However, further investigation revealed that the gold coins did not belong to the two men in the car; documents found indicated a senior citizen from Nuremberg Zerzabelshof as the rightful owner.
The suspects are yet to answer for the suspicion of fraud. The Bavarian Police Headquarters Mittelfranken has issued a statement, confirming the arrests and urging the public to remain vigilant against such scams.
