Heavy traffic in Lörrach as drivers disregard traffic lights: Nearly twice as many vehicles failing to stop at red lights in Lörrach compared to the average.

In an update from the Police Headquarters Freiburg, it has been reported that a 30-year-old Mercedes driver was involved in an accident on Thursday, August 14, 2025. The incident took place in Freiburg, specifically in the city of Lörrach.

The collision occurred at around 21:40 on Basler Straße, following an incident on Dammstraße before the driver turned into Basler Straße. Fortunately, no one was injured in the accident. However, the Mercedes suffered approximately 15,000 euros worth of damage.

During the investigation, it was found that the driver was under the influence of almost two promille of alcohol. As a result, the driver's license was seized. The car was towed away from the scene.
