Highlighting the importance of environmentally friendly diets
In the city of Landshut, an exciting opportunity for schools has arisen with the launch of a new course aimed at promoting sustainable and environmentally friendly eating habits. The Environmental Education Centre Landshut, in collaboration with BioCity Landshut and the EcoModel Region, has created this course to encourage young people to reflect on their eating habits and recognise the impacts on ecological connections.
The course is designed for classes from grades six to nine of all school types, making it accessible to a wide range of students. The two-lesson programme is structured to convey key aspects of bio-food, including its production and unique features, as well as the health and ecological benefits associated with sustainable eating.
Interested teachers are encouraged to register early, as participation fees have been generously covered by the city of Landshut for the first five registrations within the city limits. Moreover, the city also covers the costs for the first five vehicle registrations within its city limits, making it even more convenient for schools to participate.
Participants will learn about the term "bio" and gain a deeper understanding of bio-food, as well as engaging in practical elements that will reinforce their learning. The course is designed to be easily integrated into the subjects of biology, geography, and nutrition and health, making it a valuable addition to the school curriculum.
The contact information for the Environmental Education Centre is available at telephone numbers 88 -1484 and 88 -1690, and via email at the provided website. A registration form, available as a PDF, can also be found on the Environmental Education Centre's website.
The goal of the course is to strengthen awareness of sustainable and environmentally friendly eating, and to promote responsible use of natural resources in daily school life. By participating in this course, students will not only learn valuable lessons about the environment, but they will also gain a deeper understanding of the importance of making sustainable choices in their daily lives.
