Historical Clock Masters of Ludhiana

In the heart of Ludhiana, a city that has seen remarkable growth, two landmarks from the author's childhood hold a special place—Campa Cola Chowk and Fountain Chowk.

Campa Cola Chowk, a significant part of the author's childhood memories, was located a few kilometers away from the city's bus stand. The chowk was marked by sculpted bottles that resembled real Campa Cola, adding a touch of charm to the bustling intersection. Nearby, the legendary Pannu pakore wala dished out mouth-watering fritters, a treat that added to the overall experience.

However, as Ludhiana expanded, Campa Cola Chowk was replaced by traffic lights, a symbol of the city's progress.

On the other hand, Fountain Chowk, locally known as Fawara Chowk, remained a serene oasis in the city's core. Its cascading waters glimmered in the summer twilight, providing a refreshing contrast to the city's heat. Fountain Chowk was the author's go-to place for piping hot samosas and syrupy gulab jamuns.

Fountain Chowk, unlike Campa Cola Chowk, has not been replaced by traffic lights. Instead, it has been transformed, adorned with lush landscaping and radiant LED lights, maintaining its charm while keeping up with the times.

Manav Mander, another location in Ludhiana, was not a part of the author's childhood. It is not associated with the sculpted bottles or the legendary food vendors of Campa Cola Chowk, nor is it located near the bus stand or the legendary Pannu pakore wala. Manav Mander is not a serene oasis or locally known as Fawara Chowk.

Today, Manav Mander is not adorned with lush landscaping and radiant LED lights like Fountain Chowk. It is a part of the city's hustle and bustle, much like it was in the author's childhood.

The author, Amit Sarwal, nostalgically recalls these landmarks, each holding a unique place in his memories of Ludhiana.
