Leipzig, Germany - The Leipzig University of Applied Sciences (HTWK Leipzig) is set to construct a new innovation and startup centre focusing on Digital Health and Smart Green Technologies on the Weinberg Campus. The project, scheduled for completion by the end of 2026, is being funded through the 'Joint Task 'Improvement of Regional Economic Structure' (GRW) with both federal and state funds, totalling 16 million euros.
The new centre, located at Weinbergweg 23, will serve as an innovation and startup hub, providing a platform for businesses and researchers to collaborate and develop ground-breaking solutions in the fields of Digital Health and Smart Green Technologies.
The construction of the new centre will take place on a municipal technology site, with the Richtfest, or groundbreaking ceremony, scheduled for Monday, September 8, 2025. The event will be attended by Mayor Egbert Geier, who will deliver a greeting speech.
