Hostage Alon Ohel offers first evidence of life in Gaza captivity
In the summer of 2024, a shocking event unfolded in Israel, as 24-year-old Alon Ohel from Lavon, Upper Galilee, was kidnapped. The incident, which occurred at Kibbutz Re'im, cast a dark shadow over the region.
The kidnapping took place at the Nova party, and a video of the incident was released in June of the same year. The location of Alon's captivity, however, remains unknown.
Alon was not alone in his ordeal. Eli Sharabi, Eliya Cohen, and Or Levy, survivors of captivity, were held with him. The group had been taken hostage prior to a previous deal that released Eli Sharabi, Eliya Cohen, and Or Levy.
Their condition was reported as serious by the survivors, who spoke out about their harrowing experiences.
Fast forward to August 2025, and another twist in the story emerged. Guy Gilboa-Dalal, while in the city of Gaza, found himself in a similar predicament, being held hostage. During their captivity, he met Alon Ohel, who was also being held by Hamas.
Despite the challenging circumstances, the story of Alon's captivity continues to unfold, with hopes for his safe return and resolution to this ongoing saga.
