Huge turnout at NYS Fair with more than 100,000 visitors, breaking the attendance record this year
The 11th day of the New York State Fair in Geddes, NY, saw a record-breaking attendance of 100,396 visitors, surpassing last year's Day 11 total by over 50,000. This holiday weekend kick-off marked the largest attendance of the year so far, with a grand total of 742,870 people attending the fair this year.
The fair offers a variety of attractions, including concerts, rides, food, animals, and other entertainment. Saturday's concert guide featured funk and pop-punk music, with the concert series headlined by En Vogue at Chevy Court at 6 p.m. and Mr. Boombastic, Shaggy, performing at Suburban Park at 8 p.m. The Latin Divas of Drag also took the Talent Showcase Stage at 4 p.m.
Unfortunately, details for the specific Sunday lineup at Chevy Court were not provided, but the Join the Band Tour, featuring live performances with Blippi, Meekah, musicians, and dancers, is set to perform starting at 1 p.m.
In addition to the music, the annual goat costume contest for the four-legged friends will take place at 2 p.m., in the Goat, Llama, and Swine Barn. The 11th annual New York State arm wrestling championships will also take place at 1 p.m. in the Eatery.
Parking was in high demand, with Long Branch Park and the fairgrounds lots nearing capacity. Despite the crowds, the NYS Fair Forecast promised sunny skies and mild temperatures, making for a pleasant day at the fair.
Approximately 18,000 guests tuned into All Time Low's performance at Suburban Park during the fair. With such a successful Day 11, the fair is sure to continue drawing large crowds as it moves into its final week.
