Illegally obtained Coke linked to child exploitation material
In a shocking turn of events, Julian Wachner, a renowned conductor, composer, and music teacher, was arrested in Indianapolis on August 20, 2025. The arrest was made following an investigation into suspicious cryptocurrency transfers to a darknet site, allegedly the largest provider of child pornographic material.
The investigation, reported by the Indystar, uncovered illicit files at Wachner's home, including dozens of child pornographic files recently opened on his laptop. Upon entering Wachner's login credentials, the laptop reportedly immediately displayed a video containing child pornographic content; dozens of other files had been recently opened.
The police linked Wachner between August 2024 and February 2025 to these unusual transactions, totaling approximately 840 USD. The final charges will be determined by the Marion County Prosecutor's Office.
It's important to note that Wachner is considered innocent until proven guilty by a court of law. The forensic examination of the laptop is ongoing.
At the time of his arrest, Wachner was employed as a fourth-grade teacher at the Invent Learning Hub, a charter school in Indianapolis. The school administration has stated that Wachner's misconduct occurred outside of the school.
After his arrest, Wachner admitted to police that he had been downloading and subsequently deleting child pornographic material from the darknet for years. A black bag containing what is believed to be cocaine, and the laptop, were found during the search of Wachner's home.
No indication has been given that any students were involved in the misconduct. Wachner, in addition to being a teacher, is also a conductor and composer.
The police were alerted by the online exchange Wachner used about three suspicious transactions. The investigation into Wachner began due to these transactions, which were reported as part of a broader investigation linked to the darknet portal.
