Impromptu performance by Ed Sheeran in a historic pub located in Düsseldorf's old town
Ed Sheeran is set to conclude his tour with three unforgettable concerts in Düsseldorf from September 3 to September 5, 2025. The Merkur Spiel-Arena will be buzzing with energy as approximately 200,000 fans are expected over the three days. Each concert will accommodate 65,000 fans, making them the largest concerts at the Düsselorf Arena in the past 20 years.
The city and organisers are using the digital platform "Mobil in Düsseldorf" to guide traffic flow for these concerts. Public transportation users can travel for free within the entire VRR network on the day of the event with their concert ticket until the end of service. Visitors to the "Mobil in Düsseldorf" website can enter their postal code and concert date to receive a recommendation on the best way to travel. Buses from Cologne, Münster, Duisburg, Essen, and Dortmund will also be running to Düsseldorf for the concerts, bookable via the digital platform.
Car drivers must book their parking spot in advance, as none will be available on-site through the "Mobil in Düsseldorf" platform. Train schedules will be increased for the concerts, and extra shuttle buses will run from 10:30 PM to 1:30 AM after the concert, going to Heinrich-Heine-Allee. A dedicated WhatsApp channel will be available for each concert day, providing information on current traffic conditions, entry situations, and any last-minute changes.
The concerts will kick off at 4 PM, with the pre-show starting at 6 PM, featuring Myles Smith and Tori Kelly. The first concert was on September 3, the second is on September 4, and the last is on September 5. Fans are sharing videos and pictures from the first concert on social media, expressing their excitement and joy.
Before the tour, Ed Sheeran surprised his fans with an acoustic set at O'Reilly's Irish pub in Düsseldorf's old town on September 3, 2025. The pub temporarily renamed itself "The Old Phone," which is also the title of a new Ed Sheeran song. The first 50 drinks were on Ed Sheeran at the surprise event.
The city's social media department also joined in the excitement, renaming Düsseldorf "Sheerandorf" on their Instagram account. Ed Sheeran announced the surprise at an Irish pub in Düsseldorf's old town on his social media.
This tour marks the end of an era for Ed Sheeran, and Düsseldorf is set to witness history. Don't miss out on the chance to be a part of this incredible event.
