In a first for Osnabrück, Marina Maximilian showcases a versatile music range, spanning pop, jazz, and the style of Marlene Dietrich.
The Jewish Culture Festival in Osnabrück, Germany, is set to return from September 4 to 7, showcasing a vibrant Jewish culture with events at various venues throughout the city.
At the heart of the festival is the Osnabrückhalle, where the opening concert will take place. Avi Toubiana, the festival's artistic director, expressed his excitement about introducing Marina Maximilian to the Osnabrück audience.
Marina Maximilian, a versatile musician who moves between jazz, pop, and Marlene Dietrich songs, will open the festival on September 4. Born in Ukraine, Maximilian will host the entire evening and perform her own repertoire. The theater group "Mobilés" will also perform at the opening concert, known for their shadow theater "Moving Shadows."
"Mobilés" have been awarded multiple times, including the Creativity and Audience Award at the world's largest comedy festival "Juste pour rire" in Montreal.
Throughout the festival, the Felix-Nussbaum-Haus will host readings, while other locations in Osnabrück will offer opportunities for encounters or film highlights.
Avi Toubiana, the artistic director, is a cultural activist and manager with an impressive background. Before his current role, he worked as an auto mechanic and caterer, lived in New York, trained as an actor, created a comedy show, and now also directs the Jewish Cultural Days in Berlin.
