In a thrilling World Cup qualifier, Australia emerged victorious against New Zealand with a 2-0 win in Auckland. The match saw a standout performance from the young Australian talent, 19-year-old Irankunda, who currently plays for second-tier English club Watford.

Irankunda, who joined Watford from Bayern Munich in the summer, scored the second goal for Australia on the 54th minute. His goal was a result of a mazy run and a precise finish, leaving the New Zealand defence in disarray.

The first goal of the match was scored by striker Toure on the 35th minute. Toure, who is currently on loan at Randers in Denmark from Watford, put the Socceroos in the lead early on. Despite Toure's best efforts to secure a hat-trick, VAR ruled him offside, denying him the opportunity to complete the treble.

New Zealand talisman Chris Wood nearly equalized for the hosts, but his effort hit a deflection and bounced off the Australia crossbar. Goalkeeper Paul Izzo made a crucial save for Australia, preventing a New Zealand goal by tipping the follow-up from full-back Tim Payne over the bar.

In the first half, New Zealand had more possession, but they were unable to convert their chances into goals. The Socceroos' defence held firm, limiting the opportunities for the Kiwis to score.

The second half saw a more evenly matched game, with both teams creating chances. However, it was Toure who sealed the deal for Australia, scoring his second goal of the match on the 60th minute. New Zealand's Wood responded with a goal on the 57th minute, but it was too little, too late for the hosts.

The win marks Australia's seventh World Cup overall and sixth consecutive one. Meanwhile, New Zealand has qualified for the World Cup for the third time and for the first time since 2010.

Despite the loss, New Zealand can take pride in their performance against a strong Australian team. The match was a close contest, with both teams showing their mettle on the field. The final score of the match remained 2-0 in favor of Australia, securing their place in the World Cup.
