In spite of the prohibition on driving, the driver eludes authorities following a bus accident
An accident occurred on Sunday afternoon in the supermarket parking lot of Schwangau, involving a tour bus. The driver of the vehicle, a 61-year-old individual, has since been found under investigation for several offences.
According to reports, the driver was backing out of a parking spot when he collided with the parked tour bus. The impact of the collision caused approximately €1,500 worth of damage to the tour bus. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the accident.
Immediately following the incident, the driver informed the bus driver that he was only going home briefly and would return shortly. However, after an hour had passed and the driver had not returned, the bus driver decided to call the police.
Upon investigation, the police found the driver at his home address. They also discovered that the driver had a driving ban and ordered a blood test for suspected alcohol influence. The police are now investigating the driver for the accident, as well as for hit-and-run and suspected drunk driving.
The driver's identity has not been publicly named, but it is known that he now faces multiple criminal proceedings. The investigation into the accident is still ongoing.
