In the aftermath of a car crash involving two youthful motorists in Roding, authorities are conducting an investigation and safeguarding the vehicle involved.
In a shocking turn of events, a traffic accident occurred at the town hall junction in Roding, Cham district, on Friday evening at around 22:25. The collision involved two vehicles and resulted in minor injuries for all parties involved.
According to the police, an 18-year-old was attempting to turn left from Schulstraße into Adolph-Kolping-Straße, while a 21-year-old was traveling straight ahead in a VW Polo. Unfortunately, both vehicles collided at the junction.
It has been reported that the 18-year-old was traveling at an excessive speed, which may have contributed to the accident. The 18-year-old's car was subsequently impounded for a technical examination.
The Roding fire brigade and four ambulances were quickly on the scene to provide assistance. A doctor and the rescue service manager Sonja Muhr were also present to tend to the injured parties.
Kreisbrandinspektor Norbert Mezei was at the scene to oversee the rescue operations. Witnesses who saw the accident are urged to contact the Roding police station to provide any information they might have.
Both drivers and their passengers were taken to the hospital for treatment. Thankfully, their injuries were minor. The police are still investigating the accident and will provide further updates as they become available.
