In the parking lot, golfer Charley Hull encountered an accident, tripping over a curb and landing on the ground, urgently calling for her boyfriend as she struggled to get up, prior to the London tournament.
In a setback for the British golfer, Charley Hull has been forced to withdraw from the PIF London Championship, scheduled at the Centurion Club, due to an ankle injury.
The incident occurred in a car park, where Hull had a slip that she initially believed could have caused a broken ankle. However, further examination revealed it was not as severe as she had feared. Despite this, Hull estimates she won't be able to train for another three weeks.
This latest injury is part of a series of health and injury setbacks that Hull has faced in recent weeks. Prior to the AIG Women's Open, she had to withdraw due to health and injury concerns, and before the PIF London Championship, she had a minor incident involving a fall in a car park.
Hull's injury has also put her plans for a return to her usual fitness routine on hold. The 26-year-old golfer had been dealing with a back injury and had fainted three times and pulled her back out prior to the British Open.
Thomas Bjorn, the European Tour captain, jokingly commented on Hull's tendency to fall or lie down in unusual places. Despite the injury, Hull remains optimistic about her performance at the PIF London Championship, but she is concerned about the potential impact of her injury on the rest of her season.
In better news, Miyu Yamashita won the AIG Women's Open, leaving Hull to focus on her recovery and her plans for a return to the golf course. Hull will undergo an MRI to assess her ankle injury and hopefully gain a clearer understanding of her road to recovery.
