Increase in Attendance at the Cultural Summer Event
The Knechtsteden Cultural Summer is set to return next year with a fresh concept and an impressive lineup of artists. Organised by the municipal cultural office and the Knechtsteden Cultural Center, this annual event promises to be a cultural extravaganza not to be missed.
Roberto Capitoni will kick off the event on August 5, 2026, with his presentation "60 ist das neue 40". Archie Deneke, the Cultural Center operator, has confirmed that Capitoni will be joined by other renowned artists, including Lucy van Kuhl, Jens Heinrich Claassen, and more.
The comedy program for the theater barn in 2026 is already set, with performances by Lucy van Kuhl on August 4, Jens Heinrich Claassen on August 6, and Roberto Capitoni on August 5. Tickets for all three performances can be purchased at reservix.de and in the Dormagen City Bookstore.
In a departure from previous years, the comedy performances will be held on three consecutive weekdays instead of a weekend. This change seems to have paid off, as the cultural office recorded an increase of 400 visitors from last year for the comedy performances.
The event will also feature music concerts, with approximately 900 music lovers attending the concerts featuring tribute bands "Still Collins", "Panische Zeiten" (Udo Lindenberg), and "Vier gewinnt" (Die Fantastischen Vier).
For early bookers, the cultural office offers the "Drei für 45" subscription. Additionally, the proceeds and donations from catering will be donated to "Klasse 2000", a project offering seminars on topics like conflict resolution without violence and healthy eating at two Dormagen primary schools.
Archie Deneke is currently negotiating with well-known cover bands for the concert evenings in 2026. The Lions Club Dormagen will continue to handle catering for the Cultural Summer, ensuring a delightful culinary experience for all attendees.
