Increase in Cost for Saxony's Lottery Games in the Coming Days
In a recent update, the prices and processing fees for popular lottery games in Saxony have undergone some changes. These changes, which took effect at the beginning of August, aim to cover rising costs in various areas and ensure the technical operation, security, digitalization, and support for the approximately 1,210 retail outlets in the region.
The most notable change is the increase in the processing fee for lottery games. Previously set at 20 cents, the fee has risen to 30 cents for online purchases and 20 cents for retail outlet purchases. This increase is more noticeable for a single Lotto or Eurojackpot tip as the fee is charged per game slip and regardless of the number of tips given.
The prices for Lotto "6 aus 49", Eurojackpot, and Glücksspirale have also seen an adjustment. Online, the cost for a full ticket of Lotto "6 aus 49" and Glücksspirale has risen from 1.70 Euro and 5.50 Euro to 1.80 Euro and 5.60 Euro respectively. Eurojackpot online now costs 2.60 Euro (previously 2.50 Euro). In retail outlets, Lotto "6 aus 49" now costs 2 Euro (previously 1.80 Euro), Eurojackpot now costs 2.80 Euro (previously 2.60 Euro), and Glücksspirale now costs 5.80 Euro for a full ticket (previously 5.60 Euro).
It's important to note that lottery prices differ across federal states due to varying fees charged by state lottery companies. These fees range from €0.20 to €1.00 depending on the state, with specific states not listed but the fee difference existing regionally.
Commercial game brokers like Tipp24 or Clever Lotto also have their own fee systems for online lottery participation.
The last increase in the processing fee for lottery games in Saxony was three years ago. This increase is aimed at ensuring the continued smooth operation and development of the lottery services in the region. The Sächsische Lotto-GmbH has stated that the processing fee adjustment is necessary to cover rising costs in various areas.
