Increased Police Speed Enforcement in Northern Part of Swabia's jurisdiction
In the past few days, traffic police in Donauwoerth, Germany, have been conducting speed checks on several roads, aiming to curb the growing problem of excessive speeding.
On Friday, August 15, 2025, the police focused on the federal road B16 near Rain. The highest speed recorded was a staggering 179 km/h in a 100 km/h zone. The driver who recorded this speed now faces a fine of 1,400 euros, two points on their license, and a three-month driving ban.
The following day, on Saturday, August 16, 2025, the traffic police moved to the district road DLG 7 near Wittislingen. Once again, the highest speed recorded was above the speed limit, this time at 151 km/h in a 100 km/h zone. The driver who recorded this speed now faces the same penalties as the driver from the previous day.
On Sunday, August 17, 2025, the traffic police conducted speed checks on the federal road B25 near Wallerstein. Over 90 traffic participants were detected driving too fast, with the highest speed recorded at 151 km/h. The driver who recorded this speed now faces a fine of 320 euros, two points on their license, and a one-month driving ban.
Throughout these three days, a total of nearly 120 traffic participants were detected driving too fast on Friday, over 80 were fined on Saturday, and more than 90 were detected on Sunday.
The police are appealing to all road users to adhere to the speed limits. Excessive or inappropriate speed has been one of the main causes of serious and fatal traffic accidents for years. The authorities urge drivers to remember that speeding not only endangers their lives but also the lives of other road users.
