In a shocking turn of events, a 26-year-old man from Debert, N.S., has been charged with attempted murder. The incident occurred outside a home on Clinton Drive in Debert, N.S., around 2 p.m. on Sunday.

According to a news release from the Nova Scotia RCMP, officers responded to a report of an altercation between two men. Upon arrival, they found one man with life-threatening injuries. The other man involved in the altercation had fled before the police arrived.

The victim was taken to the hospital by ambulance, and investigators do not believe this was a random incident; the victim and the suspect are known to each other. The identity of the second man is not disclosed, and no information about his current condition is available.

Bradley Metlin was arrested around 1 p.m. Monday at a residence on Passchendaele Avenue. Search warrants were executed at a residence in Debert in connection with the investigation.

Metlin is scheduled to appear in Truro provincial court on Sept. 9. At this time, there is no publicly available information about the acquaintances of the defendant in connection with the attempted murder case.

The RCMP continues to investigate the incident, and no further information has been released at this time. The public is asked to refrain from speculation and to allow the investigation to proceed.
