Indore Prepares for Anant Chaturdashi Procession with Enhanced Security Measures

Indore, Madhya Pradesh is gearing up for the Anant Chaturdashi procession this Saturday night, with the local police taking extensive measures to ensure a safe and peaceful event.

According to the instructions issued by Police Station in charge Surendra Singh Raghuvanshi, the procession route will be divided into multiple divisions and sectors, each supervised by an officer of the appropriate rank. This includes Additional DCP and ACP or Inspectors overseeing each division and sector respectively.

Two bands, Rajkamal and Shyam Band, have confirmed their participation in the procession. They have been instructed to join only after receiving proper permission. No further information about the participation of the remaining four bands in the area has been provided.

To maintain security, approximately 2,000 police personnel, including Rapid Action Force (RAF) and Quick Response Team (QRT), will be deployed along the Jhanki route. Police personnel will be stationed on high-rise buildings and some will be in civilian attire to keep a low profile.

Well-equipped drones will monitor the entire procession route to track any anti-social elements. These drones were tested along the procession route, including Jawahar Marg, Sitlamata Bazar, Khajuri Bazaar, and mixed-population areas.

In addition, special teams will keep a close watch on individuals carrying weapons, under the influence of drugs or alcohol, or attempting to create disturbances. Police officials will carry modified hand-held metal detectors (HHMDs) to prevent any untoward incidents.

The Sarafa police held a meeting with proprietors of bands on Friday to discuss the security arrangements and the route of the procession. Police will be vigilant in sensitive areas such as Khajuri Bazaar, Sitlamata Bazar, and Jawahar Marg, known for their mixed populations.

The city of Indore is known for its vibrant celebrations during Anant Chaturdashi, and the police force is committed to maintaining this tradition while ensuring the safety and security of all participants and spectators. The city looks forward to another memorable Anant Chaturdashi procession this Saturday night.
