On the night of 30th April 2025, two significant events took place in Berlin's Prenzlauer Berg and Kreuzberg districts.
In Prenzlauer Berg, an event called "Peaceful Walpurgis Night in Mauerpark" attracted approximately 9,000 people, including event attendees and park visitors. The procession, which started at the fire station fountain, made its way through Engelsbrücke, Skalitzer Straße, Oberbaumbrücke, Warschauer Straße, and other unspecified locations, before ending at Grünberger Street.
Simultaneously, around 3,200 participants gathered under the motto "Queerfeminism" at the fire station fountain in Kreuzberg. The route of this event was not disclosed.
During the "Peaceful Walpurgis Night" event, some participants were associated with the pro-Palestinian scene. Unknown objects, including two eggs and two plastic dummies, were thrown at deployment forces from the front of the procession in Adalbertstraße. However, no police officers were injured during the event.
Fireworks were set off in Audre Lorde Street and Köpenicker Street during the procession, adding to the festive atmosphere.
Three people were arrested during the event and later released after police procedures. One man was arrested by deployment forces on suspicion of attempted assault at Lausitzer Platz. The identities of the three persons arrested on the evening of 30th April 2025 remain undisclosed.
Nine criminal investigations were initiated for assault, property damage, attacks on law enforcement officers, and the distribution of propaganda material from unconstitutional and terrorist organizations. It is unclear whether these incidents were related to either event.
The procession in Prenzlauer Berg, which had around 200 participants at the front, mostly masked and with tied banners, ended at Grünberger Street at approximately 11:15 pm, with around 2,500 people still present.
The events in Prenzlauer Berg and Kreuzberg on 30th April 2025 marked a vibrant display of community spirit and diverse expressions of political and social beliefs in the heart of Berlin.
