The Police Inspectorate of Lüneburg, Lüchow-Dannenberg, and Uelzen have been busy dealing with a series of incidents over the past few days.
In Lüneburg, a 35-year-old local man is facing multiple charges following an argument with his wife that escalated into an arrest. Meanwhile, a 49-year-old man from Cuxhaven has been causing trouble, attempting to obtain expensive medication from several Lüneburg pharmacies using fake prescriptions. The man is a known individual from Cuxhaven, and he now faces three additional charges in Lüneburg, in addition to the ongoing cases in Cuxhaven.
Elsewhere, in Uelzen, a 33-year-old man was caught riding a bike without lights and under the influence of alcohol. The man from the Samtgemeinde Aue in Uelzen had a breathalyzer test showing 1.85% BAC.
In a separate incident in Uelzen, an unknown suspect offered gardening services in Lüchow on Friday afternoon, later stealing cash from the resident's wallet.
The city of Lüneburg experienced three reported attempts of telephone fraud on Saturday evening. The police are urging caution in such cases, reminding residents to verify the identity of callers before providing any personal information.
A more light-hearted note comes from the city festival in Lüchow, where a stolen bronze gnome from Hitzacker was spotted and seized. Also at the festival, a mutual assault occurred on Saturday evening, involving intoxicated suspects and resulting in an ankle injury from a broken beer bottle.
Unfortunately, several shock calls claiming a traffic accident were made in the coastal region on Friday, but no money was handed over as the victims realized the deception. A female caller posing as police attempted to obtain information about jewelry and cash from elderly residents in Lüneburg.
