A woman in her 40s has been arrested by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in connection with a fraudulent investment scheme. The suspect, whose name has not been disclosed, was apprehended yesterday at 9pm at the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya.

The MACC is investigating a case involving 22 individuals who were tricked into investing their money. The funds invested by these individuals were not received by the corporation located in the Klang Valley, which is suspected to be involved in the fraudulent investment scheme.

Instead, the investors received false investment certificates. The nature of these certificates remains undisclosed, as does the total amount of money involved in the fraud. The corporation's specific role in the scheme is also not detailed in the article.

Prior to her arrest, the woman had given a statement to the MACC. The arrest of the woman follows an investigation by the MACC's investigation division, with senior director Zainul Darus confirming the arrest.

The MACC is yet to release further information regarding the case. It is believed that the fraudulent activities under investigation began in 2023. The woman is currently in MACC custody for further questioning.

The MACC urges the public to be vigilant and cautious when investing their money, and to verify the legitimacy of any investment opportunities before committing funds. The commission is committed to investigating cases of fraud and corruption, and to ensuring justice is served for victims of such crimes.
