Intense 12-hour Swimming Event Held at Solingen's Heath on Sunday
In the heart of Solingen, Germany, the unique 12-hour swimming event is set to take place at the Ohligser Heide on a forthcoming Sunday. This exciting event is organised by a collaboration of the German Life Saving Association (DLRG), Solingen Training Community, Solingen Sports Association, Youth Council, and Solingen Baths GmbH.
Participants can look forward to swimming laps for personal score, team, family, club, or company, with the 12-hour swim commencing at 8 am and concluding at 8 pm. Regular entry fees to the Heidebad apply for the event, and there is an additional participation fee of €5 for adults and €2 for children and young people for the 12-hour swim.
Every participant will receive a certificate upon completion of the 12-hour swim, acknowledging their achievement. This certificate is given to all participants, not just winners or high scorers.
Throughout the day, food and drinks can be purchased at the kiosk, and between 11 am and 4 pm, the Solingen Sports Association presents "Sport in the Park Special", a land-based sports program offering various activities.
For the younger participants, "Heidi" the crocodile will provide additional water fun, ensuring there's something for everyone.
In addition to the main swimming event, the DLRG will offer swimming badge tests, ranging from the Seahorse to the German Swimming Badge Gold, from 10 am to 4 pm. These tests are open to people of all ages and skill levels.
Special prizes will be awarded during the event, although the specific criteria for receiving these prizes were not disclosed.
While the exact organiser of the event is not specified, it is known that the local swimming club or association responsible for the Ohligser Heide area is involved in its organisation.
So, whether you're a seasoned swimmer or just looking for a fun day out, the 12-hour swimming marathon at the Ohligser Heide promises to be an exciting event not to be missed!
