International Airport in Noida collaborates with Rapido to provide non-stop taxi services for travelers around the clock
The Noida International Airport (NIA) has announced a series of partnerships aimed at enhancing the overall travel experience for passengers. One of these partnerships is with Mahindra, which will offer an all-electric premium airport taxi service, and ride-hailing platform Rapido.
This collaboration is part of NIA's broader strategy to offer reliable, app-based mobility options accessible to all passengers. The partnership aims to provide tech-enabled, efficient last-mile connectivity at NIA.
Christoph Schnellmann, CEO of Noida International Airport, stated that ensuring a smooth journey beyond the terminal is essential for the overall travel experience at NIA. "We are committed to making the Noida International Airport a key aviation gateway for the Delhi-NCR region and Western Uttar Pradesh," he added.
Under the partnership, Rapido will operate exclusive pick-up zones within the airport premises. These zones will be supported by on-ground staff, clear way-finding guides, and reserved parking spaces for Rapido driver-partners. The service is available 24/7 to serve the varying needs of travelers.
The Rapido app-based service offers multiple ride options, real-time tracking, and cashless payments. In addition, it comes with safety features such as in-app SOS functionality and access to driver details.
Rajiv Bhyri, Assistant Vice President of Cabs at Rapido, stated that the partnership aims to offer a competitive fare structure while ensuring better earnings for driver-partners. "We are excited to be a part of NIA's strategy to offer a frictionless transition from terminal to destination," he added.
The Noida International Airport, developed by Yamuna International Airport Private Limited (YIAPL), is expected to handle up to 12 million passengers annually in its initial phase. It is a greenfield project owned by Zurich Airport International AG and features a single terminal and runway, with future expansion already planned.
NIA is positioning itself as a multimodal transport hub. The partnership with Mahindra and Rapido is another step in this direction, integrating tech-based and efficient last-mile connectivity into its airport infrastructure.
The airport is set to become a significant player in the region's aviation landscape, offering passengers a seamless, tech-enabled transit experience from start to finish.
