International Chess Gathering in Benidorm Boasts Participation of 200 Chess Players Hailing from 26 Different Nations
The Benidorm Chess Open, scheduled to take place from October 25 to November 2, 2025, is set to be a significant event in the world of chess. This prestigious tournament will be held at the Melia Benidorm Hotel in Benidorm, Alicante, Spain.
The tournament is open for registered users and has already attracted 200 players from 26 countries. Among the participants, you'll find chess enthusiasts from various European nations, as well as Argentina, Colombia, Venezuela, and New Zealand.
The Benidorm Chess Open aims to be a benchmark for organizational quality, offering a unique blend of competition, training, and leisure. The event enjoys great collaboration from the Federation of Chess of the Valencian Community, the Melia Benidorm Hotel, Benidorm City Council, Provincial Council of Alicante, and Generalitat Valenciana's General Directorate of Sport.
In the Open A (Supra 1800) competition, eleven International Masters and seven FIDE Masters have registered. The competition will feature 40 games broadcast over the internet, providing an opportunity for chess lovers worldwide to follow the action live.
A special prize fund of 3,000 euros has been allocated for chess players federated by the Valencian Community. This fund will be distributed among ten winners.
Aside from the chess competition, the Filmoteca d'Estiu will be screening 'Mulholland Drive' in its original version with Valencian subtitles, adding a cultural touch to the event.
