The Vietnam International Sourcing and Export Forum 2025 (VIS 2025) has officially started in Ho Chi Minh City on September 4, attracting a multitude of Vietnamese enterprises and international buyers. The event will run until September 6 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre.

Central Retail, one of the main participants, showcased products from 14 Vietnamese enterprises with strong export potential. The products, categorized into coffee, chocolate, health-focused products, and eco-friendly packaging, are part of a diverse range that includes agricultural produce, beverages, processed foods, textiles, footwear, furniture, packaging, and supporting industry goods.

Central Retail also introduced its private labels GO! and Viet Gems, featuring regional specialties certified under the OCOP program. The company invited procurement representatives from Thailand to connect with Vietnamese firms, further strengthening international ties.

Over 400 Vietnamese enterprises are participating in the event, showcasing 12,000 products. The event attracted 450 procurement delegations from 60 countries and territories, offering a valuable opportunity for Vietnamese businesses to expand their markets and reduce reliance on the US market.

The opening ceremony was attended by senior Party and State leaders, government officials, and others, underscoring the importance of the event for Vietnam's economic growth. The city's commitment to creating favorable conditions for both domestic and international enterprises includes growing, spreading positive values, and building a green, sustainable, and innovative economic-tourism-trade ecosystem.

Vietnam's trade was worth $786 billion last year, with exports growing by 14.3% to $405 billion. The 12% growth target for trade for 2025 is well within reach after it rose to $515 billion in the first seven months of the year.

The International Sourcing and Export Forum 2025 features thematic conferences and seminars, providing Vietnamese businesses with insights into consumer trends, market regulations, and global demand. The VIS 2025 and Export Forum focus on connecting Vietnamese enterprises with global supply chains.

The International Travel Expo HCM City is held simultaneously with the two events, symbolizing harmony in strategy and vision. Meanwhile, Tây Ninh will welcome 150 business groups and distributors from 24 countries on September 6, as part of the international exhibition pavilion at the International Sourcing Expo in Tây Ninh.

Foreign buyers at the event can better understand Vietnam's production capabilities and cultural strengths. HCM City, following the merger of Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu and Bình Dương provinces, aims to be a hub for international cooperation, accounting for 22.3% of national GDP and having a population of nearly 14 million.

Participating enterprises in Central Retail's pavilion at VIS 2025 will be promoted at the Vietnamese Product Week in Paris this October, providing them with further opportunities to expand their reach. Paul Lê, vice president of Central Retail, emphasized that participating in VIS 2025 offers a valuable opportunity to diversify markets and increase access to Europe.

In conclusion, the Vietnam International Sourcing and Export Forum 2025 is a significant event for Vietnam's economic growth, offering Vietnamese enterprises a platform to showcase their products and connect with international buyers. The event's focus on sustainability, innovation, and global connectivity aligns with the city's vision of becoming a hub for international cooperation.
