Intersection of Highways by Land and Rail Infrastructure
In the heart of Dresden, there are several noteworthy developments taking place over the coming days.
Starting from Monday, Rothenburger Street will be closed to vehicle traffic for wastewater department works, set to be completed by Tuesday. During this time, a bus will run as line EV6 between Anton-/Leipziger Straße and Guentzplatz via Albertplatz, Bautzner/Rothenburger Straße, and Albert Bridge, providing an alternative route for commuters.
Meanwhile, works on Rothenburger Street are part of a larger project and are in the construction shadow of the works on Hoyerswerdaer Street. After Rothenburger Street reopens on Wednesday, there will be a full closure on Louisenstraße between Rothenburger and Kamenzer streets for a crane installation.
The Dresden Transport Authority has announced that, due to these construction works, Line 8 will temporarily return to its original route, running between Albertplatz and Hauptbahnhof via Carolaplatz, Augustus Bridge, and Postplatz. Line 13 will also be divided: west from Kaditz to Goerlitzer Straße stop (relocated before Louisenstraße intersection), while east it will run from Prohlis to Guentzplatz and take over the route of line 6 towards Tolkewitz.

On a lighter note, the district councils of Dresden Neustadt will meet today at 5:30 pm for a meeting at the district office. Rui Martins has also captured a video of Dresden Neustadt, titled "Fascination Neustadt", which can be viewed on Vimeo.
Lastly, an open bouldering competition will take place at the Bouldercity on Bischofsweg in Dresden Neustadt on Saturday. For the latest updates on tram and bus diversions, you can visit the Dresden Transport Authority's website at dvb.de.
For those in Nuremberg, the construction measures on Rothenburger Straße are conducted by the city's Servicebetrieb Öffentlicher Raum (SÖR) and can be tracked online on the official Nuremberg city website under the "Alle Baustellen im Stadtgebiet" (All Construction Sites in the City Area) section. The current Rothenburger Straße roadworks involve surface construction scheduled until September 19, 2025.
