Drunk Man Arrested for Arson at Heusenstamm Gas Station

A dramatic incident unfolded at a gas station in Heusenstamm, Germany, on Sunday evening. A man, heavily intoxicated with a blood alcohol level of 2.3 per mille, allegedly set a fuel pump on fire after being banned from the premises.

The fire was quickly extinguished by the brave actions of the gas station employees, who grabbed fire extinguishers and managed to put out the blaze. However, not before all fuel pumps were deactivated to prevent further damage.

According to the police, the man had previously harassed and threatened a gas station employee. After being banned from the premises, he returned, pouring a liquid, presumably gasoline, over a fuel pump and setting it on fire.

The police were soon on the scene and were able to arrest the suspect. The man was also given a ban from the surrounding area. An investigation for arson has been initiated, and the Criminal Police are looking for more witnesses to gather more information about the incident.

The suspect is currently in custody on suspicion of attempted murder. It is a relief that no one was injured in the incident, but it serves as a reminder of the potential dangers of drunken behaviour and the importance of following rules and regulations.

The police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any information to come forward and contact the authorities. It is crucial that the full facts of the case are uncovered to ensure justice is served.
