Hannover and Magdeburg fans filled the city of Hannover for a highly anticipated football match between Hannover 96 and 1. FC Magdeburg. The event saw a significant turnout, with approximately 8,000 Hannover 96 fans and 5,000 1. FC Magdeburg fans making their way to the Heinz von Heiden Arena.

Fans traveled from various locations, including Hannover, Ratzeburg, Uelzen, Hünfeld, and Punsere Plattform, all converging on the city for the match. Large parts of the Magdeburg fan scene gathered on the Ernst-August-Platz and walked to the stadium under police escort. A smaller part of Magdeburg fans also traveled via the Hannover Linden/Fischerhof station to the central station.

The Federal Police Inspectorate Hannover was deployed to ensure a safe and peaceful match day. The focus of the deployment was on travel routes and main railway stations in Braunschweig and Hannover, as well as the Hannover Linden/Fischerhof station.
