Investigation connections denied: Leire Díez claims no association with Cerdán, denies contact with Sánchez, and attributes her "investigations" to a forthcoming book's preparation

Investigation suspect Leire Díez refutes association with Cerdán, alleged communication with Sánchez, and ties her investigations to the preparation of a forthcoming publication.

In a dramatic turn of events, Leire Díez, a former member of the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE), finds herself at the centre of a political storm. Díez has been imputed in relation to the Koldo case, which is currently being investigated in the Lower House.

Díez, who has worked as an investigative journalist, has denied the allegations made by the People's Party (PP) senator, Alejo Miranda. These allegations include blackmailing prosecutors, bribing businessmen, persecuting judges, and hindering justice on behalf of the PSOE.

However, Díez has admitted knowing Santos Cerdán, the former number three in the PSOE, but since he entered provisional prison, she has not spoken to him. She has also denied maintaining a "political, personal, or unofficial collaboration relationship" with Cerdán, as well as having had "contact" or spoken "even a single word" with the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez.

Despite these denials, the PP has used its absolute majority in the Senate to call Díez to the commission, placing her as one of the people "of maximum confidence" of Sánchez and Cerdán.

Díez has stated that she has not held an organic position in the PSOE or had a paid job in this formation, except when she was responsible for the socialists' social networks in Cantabria in 2008 and councilor in Vega de Pas in 2011. She has also denied doing "research" work for the preparation of books about the "malfunctioning of institutions" for the PSOE.

In a surprising twist, Díez has been accused of offering favorable treatment to businessmen with open judicial cases, as per audios that have surfaced. In response, she has denied these allegations and has over 2 million documents and 10 thousand audios to prove the existence of such "malfunctioning" in the past.

In a press conference, Díez claimed that she has not spoken "a single word" with Pedro Sánchez, nor has she met with his wife, Begonya Gómez, nor with his brother, David Sánchez. She also stated that she has not been part of the "sewers" of the State, a term often used to refer to corruption and underhanded dealings.

Most recently, Díez met businessman Víctor Aldama on the day she gave the press conference. The implications of this meeting are yet to be fully understood.

Díez requested her resignation from the PSOE after a meeting at Ferraz. As the investigation into the Koldo case continues, the public awaits the outcome of this political drama with bated breath.
