"Invitation to the Grandest European Regional Policy Gathering of 2025: #EURegionsWeek"
The European Week of Regions and Cities (#EURegionsWeek) is set to return for its 23rd edition from 13 to 15 October 2025, taking place both in Brussels and online. This year's theme, "Shaping Tomorrow, Together", promises an engaging exploration of the future of Europe's regions and cities.
The event, organised by the European Commission and its Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy, will showcase over 200 events, including workshops, exhibitions, speeches, and networking opportunities. The programme aims to foster collaboration and the exchange of best practices among participants.
Three central topics will be discussed: "Cohesion and Growth for the Future", "The Right to Stay: unlocking the potential of every territory", and "Cities Building Tomorrow". The first topic focuses on sustainable growth through cohesive policy and investments in collaboration with local and national actors. The second emphasises the need for infrastructure, education, healthcare, and digital connectivity to enable people to stay in their home regions. The third topic is about innovative urban development and urban impulses for an inclusive and sustainable future.
"The Right to Stay: unlocking the potential of every territory" is a significant aspect of this year's event, with the exhibition highlighting projects related to education, future competencies, and "Slow Tourism". This theme underscores the importance of creating a supportive environment for people to thrive in their home regions.
Participation in the event is free of charge, and registration is open until 30 September 2025. The main venues for the event in Brussels are the Jacques Delors Building and the SQUARE Brussels Congress Centre. Over 10,000 participants, including more than 1,000 speakers from Europe and beyond, are expected.
The event will offer various formats for networking, learning from "best practices", and co-shaping European regional policy. Some program points will also take place in other EU institutions and regional partnerships' Brussels offices.
One of the highlights of the event will be the announcement of the winning projects of the REGIOSTARS Awards 2025 during a festive awards ceremony.
Further information about the event can be found on the European Union's website, the Committee of the Regions' website, and the Lower Austria's website. Don't miss out on this opportunity to engage with Europe's regional policy and shape the future together!
