Irish Singer CMAT Releases New Album 'Euro-Country'

Irish singer CMAT has released her third album, 'Euro-Country', today. The album, which discusses personal reflections on economics and identity, follows her 2023 album, 'Crazymad, For Me'.

CMAT, whose real name is Sinéad Nora, is the sister of Roísín. The singer revealed that she hired her sister to help her during her busy work schedule, stating that Roísín helps keep her grounded. On days when CMAT is being difficult or hypochondriac, Roísín helps her get out of bed. However, if CMAT is genuinely sick, Roísín will take care of her.

'Euro-Country' was recorded in New York and co-produced by Oli Deakin and CMAT herself. The album explores Ireland as a case study for capitalism. CMAT joked about becoming a diva due to her hectic schedule, stating that her sister now has to put up with her diva antics.

The album has received positive reviews, with both 'The Guardian' and 'The Times' awarding it five stars. CMAT is set to play Dublin's St Anne's Park on Saturday 30 May 2026, and Virgin Media Park, Cork on Saturday 20 June 2026.

In an interview, CMAT explained that her new offering tackles a number of big themes. The singer won the Choice Music Prize for her debut album, 'If My Wife New I'd Be Dead'. No new information about co-production or recording locations for 'Euro-Country' was provided.

'Euro-Country' is currently available and can be streamed on various platforms. CMAT mentioned that she is scheduled to perform around 100 shows in the year, which equates to approximately one show every three days. The singer's hectic schedule notwithstanding, her sister Roísín remains a constant source of support.
